Nature’s Bouquet Hike

From 8:30-10 AM
More than 300 species of native plants are found at Gibson Woods, including a variety of rare and unique species. Join a park naturalist for a walk through the preserve to learn more about our flora. Comfortable shoes and insect repellent recommended.
Winged Wonders Walk
Wednesday, 9:30-11 AM June 10- August 12
The skies are filled with animals in flight in our warm summer months. Which winged wonders will we witness each week? Will nature surprise us with something new? Join us and discover your favorite of nature’s wonders.

Celebrate National Pollinators Week with us as we discover the importance of bees and their pollinator friends, and make a take-home bee hotel.
Sun-sational Summer Solstice Open House
Saturday, June 20 from 1-4 PM
$2 per person
Celebrate the first day of summer with some sun-sational experiments and crafts. Drop in between 1-4 PM and you’ll be “made in the shade”

Ever wonder what lives underwater in a pond besides fish? Join us as we collect and look at some of the smaller and spectacular species of the watery world. Wear shoes/ clothes you do not find getting dirty or wet. Gate fee applies at Lemon Lake and Oak Ridge Prairie. Designed for ages 3 and up. Pre-registration required; please call 219-844-3188. Aquatic Creek Adventure

Turkey Creek Golf Course
Join us for a special aquatic adventure as we investigate Turkey Creek and who lives in it. Wear shoes/clothes you do not mind getting dirty/wet. Recommended for ages 5 and up. Summer Nights at Gibson Woods
Saturday June 20 and July 25 open till 7 PM
Enjoy those long summer nights by coming out to Gibson Woods as we keep the preserve open later. Stop in to learn something new or just take a hike on the trails.
