Summer in the park is designed for children ages 10 and under along with their families, each of the programs listed below offers a unique way to get outside, and learn something new about history or nature. This free summer program at Deep River County Park takes place on Wednesdays at 10 AM from June 17- August 5 2020. These programs are designed for families and individuals, if interested in a group reservation call 219-947-1958.

Meet the Miller
June 17 at 10 AM
See how the mill still makes stone-ground cornmeal with hands on activities and make a corn-y craft.
Calling All Birds
June 24 at 10 AM
Hear different bird calls and make a bird feeder for your own backyard.
July 1 at 10 AM
Celebrate America with a flag hunt around the park and make a fireworks chalk picture.
Where the Buffalo Roam
July 8 at 10 AM
Find out where Bison roam here in Indiana and make a bison mask.
Nature Made Art
July 15 at 10 AM
Explore the park to find nature’s paint brushes to make a unique master piece.
Tools of the Trade
July 22 at 10 AM
Check out the tools in the balcksmith shop and make a horseshoe work of art.
Fire Safety: Bucket Brigade
July 29 at 10 AM
Learn about fire safety with the "smoke" house and stay for watery fun with the bucket brigade.
August 5 at 10 AM
Play the historic game of marbles, build a marble run and paint a marble masterpiece.
